Dog coats may sound over the top, but they are quite practical

A pampered pooch develops special needs, just as a thoroughbred race-horse that is kept inside, fed a special diet, and exercised regularly. When it is cold outside racehorses are kept in heated stalls, and if they do go out for a moment, they are covered with a custom fitted coat. Dog coats serve this exact same purpose for dogs who are kept inside during the cold months.

Just look at it this way, you do not need a heavy coat inside in the winter and neither does your dog. A dog’s coat reacts to the temperature at which the dog is in, so if it is in a warm home, it will not get it’s full winter coat. Bringing your inside dog outside for a walk in the winter without some sort of extra protection, would be like you going for that walk in a T-shirt and Bermuda shorts.

These articles of doggie fashion come in a wide array of styles to fit any dog. There are coats that wrap around your dog, completely, and there are coats that just cover the back and sides, so your pet can remain active. There are also styles to fit any dog’s attitude from practical grey or plaid to hot pink zebra stripes, or leopard print.
