Own a Pomeranian and own Queen Victoria's favorite breed of dog

The Pomeranian was added to the Royal Kennels by Queen Victoria in the late 19th century. The queen found this breed in Florence on a trip in 1888. She instantly fell in love with the tiny fox-faced canine.

The ancestors of this breed were larger and arrived in England from Germany in the 18th century. When Queen Charlotte, from Germany, came to the British throne. She brought her favorite court dogs with her from her country. We know these dogs as the Mittel Spitz today, but they are this breed's ancestors.

The look of this breed is signaturely cute. The dog comes in black, brown, chocolate, beaver, red, orange, cream, orange sable, wolf sable, blue, white, and particolored. The fur stands up and surrounds the face to give a look similar to a lion's mane around a fox face. The tail is fluffy and stands up over its back.
